Let’s check out some of the most creative ways we’ve found to repurpose your old overhead door in Edmonton:
1. Create a stunning dining room table
This piece is amazing. There’s no reason to throw away perfectly good materials, and a tabletop is a great choice for something that’s already large, flat, and made of wood. Especially when reclaimed wood can be extremely expensive, it only makes sense to repurpose what you have.
2. “Build” yourself a solid statement headboard
As you can see, a little stain (or paint) goes a long way. We’re door fanatics so we’d love to get a garage door into a new room, but with the treatment on this example, it’s actually hard to pinpoint where the headboard originated. It’s also much easier to create a headboard from panels that are already attached than to fit multiple pieces of wood or pallets together yourself.
3. Turn it into a custom bench for your backyard
Now here’s an overhead door that was completely transformed. Doors in Edmonton can absolutely be repurposed into seating, as long as the door in question is still sturdy enough to support some weight. This recycled bench is great for the backyard in the summer and works as emergency seating or as a mudroom boot bench in the winter too!
4. Use the panels to display art
Total makeover. In this repurposing project, the old overhead door is completely unrecognizable. This is something that could be done with traditional or bifold doors, as long as they have panels with cut-outs. Preserving existing garage door panelling is a smart way to create frames for art, letters or even photos, adding a crafty statement to your home.
